The other night I was invited to speak to the FSU College Republicans. About 40 students and a few candidates, pretty awesome for the summer session. The students are pumped up about the elections this fall. They are the future of America!
As a former Chairman circa 1983, I was obliged to regale the next generation with stories and a little show and tell from the Reagan Revolution. I brought my bag of memories with some of our literature, flyers and a Reagan-Bush ’84 bumpersticker. Also in that bag, was this picture of me from CR days, as Gun Rights Lobbyist Marion Hammer would say “back when Jeff Howell had hair.” Enjoy!

This Morning I discussed the latest in the Jim Greer saga, its bearing on the statewide races and how we are changing things at RPOF through the Ethics Committee. The bottom line is that Charlie Crist is the one responsible for the woes at the Republican Party of Florida. After letting Jim Greer order anything on the menu, he skipped out on the check.

I ran into a familiar name on a sign at a vendor booth at the last RPOF quarterly meeting. George W. Bush administration alumnus Rob Siedlecki is now a Tallahassee resident and an emerging leader in the Leon County Republican Party. He was a founding member of the new Southwood Republican club and has graciously opened his home for one of our local candidates fundraisers. I have a feeling I better hold on to the sign for the future!

Summertime in Tallahassee can be brutal, and yet the dedicated future of our party is sweating it out precinct walking and on the campaign trail. As a little thanks to these soldiers continuing the Reagan Revolution, I opened the the backyard and pool. The dedicated group of FSU College Republicans refueled with pizza and cooled off before resuming our march to victory!

Meeting of 16 county commitee members from the Second Congressional district. The chairman of the caucus asked me to give Leon County’s update. I told the group about our CD 2 candidate event on July 15 in Tallahassee. I also told the group about our new clubs, Southwood and the new Northeast Republican club.
I also heard a great speech from CD 2 candidate Steve Southerland, he opened it up to a q & a and gave good answers.

I made it safe to Tampa, no thanks to traffic. As I was checking into the hotel, I saw Rick Scott walking in with his campaign staff. There were a bunch of hand-made McCollum signs downstairs. Chairman Thrasher saw me at a distance, waived and gave me a big thumbs up.

Who would have guessed? I’ll be on Preston Scott and Eric Eggers, WFLA 100.7 at 7 AM, so tune in! You can even listen online by visiting the show online here.
Thank you for your support of the new site, GOPJeff.com, and the initiative to reach the voters of Leon County. I’ll be talking about why it’s good to be a part of the GOP. Leon County is no longer a one party county! We’re making waves, shaking things up and leading the charge to clean up corruption!

Good Morning! Happy Friday!
It’s early. Where’s my coffee? I’m headed down to Tampa early this morning. I have an “informal” Meet & Greet of the RPOF Ethics Committee at noon. I am honored to serve as Chairman. One of my main initiatives will be to develop a new Code of Ethics for the Republican Party of Florida – and if I get there early enough, I’ll continue to work on my draft.
I’m looking forward to meet and discuss issues with GOP leaders from around the state. I’m on the road… talk with you soon.
